Purpose of the Shutter Mechanism
In the case of media of 30 inches or less, curling of the media becomes stronger as the media width becomes smaller. Therefore, it is necessary to change the adsorption area.
The shutter mechanism is provided so that one platen suction fan can satisfy the horizontal negative pressure standard.
Branch point of the shutter mechanism
On the platen of the 44-inch model, the shutter mechanism operates at the 30-inch position [A].
How the shutter mechanism works
- Feed paper to the printer.
- If the media width is 30 inches or less when the paper is stabilized on the platen at the start of printing, the shutter motor is operated and the gear is used to operate the lever.
- Raise the shutter and set the adsorption area of the platen adsorption fan to 30 inches or less.
Operating of the shutter mechanism
- For media over 30 inches: Rotate the lever to open the shutter.
- The position of the lever is confirmed by a sensor based on the flag position of the gear wheel.
- For media of 30 inches or less: Keep the lever downward.
- The position of the lever is confirmed by a sensor based on the flag position of the gear wheel.
