Ink Leak Sensors

These parts have ink leak sensors.

  • Ink Storing Box with Ink Leak Detection Sensor (A) (Detect leak from the Pump Cap Unit / Cap Unit / Ink Bifurcated Flow Channel Unit. )
  • Ink Cartridge Holder (B) (detects the ink leak from ink holder or ink cartridges)

Ink Leak Sensor (A) detects leak and notified by the following error.

When the leaked ink adheres to the terminals, current flows, and the voltage drops below the threshold value (short circuit), ink leakage is detected and notified by the following error.

When becomes smaller R2 (e), the output voltage decreases.

Make sure that the circuit related to the Ink Leak Detection Sensor is not short-circuited on the Main Board.

  • Remove the harness (CN701) of the Ink Leak Detection Sensor from the Printer Main Circuit Board and then start the printer → If the Ink Leak Detection Sensor triggers an alarm, there is an abnormality in the Printer Main Circuit Board. Replace the Printer Main Circuit Board.

Make sure that the harness is not short-circuited halfway.

  • Remove the harness from the connector of the Printer Main Circuit Board, and check the harness conductivity.
    If conductivity is present:
    Order of a few KΩ or less: The harness is short-circuited.
    500 kΩ or less: Ink leakage has occurred. However, being a liquid, the resistance value is unstable. Replace the Ink Storing Box with Ink Leak Detection Sensor.
