Specification Change about FFC Connecting

Easy to connect FFC to print head

SC-P10000/20000 and SCP6000/8000 are all FFC type

SC-P8500D/T7700D are Board to Board type

In the connector of Board to Board type (A), retaining screw shape.

New Print Head Feature

In the section, the features of adopting the new print head type will be explained. The print head type has been changed for high-speed printing and improved dot landing accuracy. The changes are shown in the table below.

In the new print head, 3 nozzles overlap to make image quality better by controlling the gap of both head chips.

Benefit of 300dpi
  1. Improves the production by achieving high print speed
  2. Matches to the standard dpi in the printing market
  3. Affects the image quality of letters for avoiding jaggy
Maintain the image quality with 300dpi
  1. Improved the droplet accuracy by combination of Media Inductive Roller and the head (similar with SC-P9500/7500)
  2. Using VSDT for making up the gap of lower dpi (same as P9500/7500 and P10000)

Nozzle Verification Technology + Automatic Cleaning
  1. First, the Head Piezo actuates a thin membrane to eject ink. (Drive signal)
  2. Then, the same Piezo detects the weave response. (Response signal)
  3. If a nozzle clogging is detected, a cleaning is automatically performed.

Missing Nozzle Compensation System

After a Nozzle Verification Technology sequence is run several times and the same nozzle is still stuck after several cleanings, the printer compensates by increasing the dot size around the missing nozzle.

  • (b) Nozzle clogged.
  • (c) Nozzles around the clogged nozzle are printing bigger size dots. (Compensation System)
