Service support mode is a service dedicated special mode that can be started by a special operation.

It allows you to execute functions including printer inspection mode and service status sheet printing functions, etc.

In the WF-M5899 Series/WF-M5399 Series, start-up in service support mode requires that the printer startup mode be set to service support mode using the adjustment program.

Use the adjustment program to set the startup mode with the below steps.

  • When a printer startup mode has been set, is not automatically reset back to the normal User's mode, so ensure that after the service work is completed, the [Normal mode] is set back.
  • This product is different from former models as the Panel cannot be used to start the printer in service support mode.
  1. Connect the printer and PC on which the adjustment program is installed using a USB cable, and turn the printer power ON.
  2. Start the Adjustment Program, and select “Printer mode startup selection”.
  3. Select “Service support mode”, and then press the Perform button.
  4. Restart the printer and it will enter the mode selected.
